WELCOME TO JAPANESE VISITORS

On Monday 14 August, members of local Walkers are Welcome Groups from Baildon, Otley, Burley, and Bingley, welcomed two professors from Japan. Yuko and Suzuki were making a Japanese-government sponsored visit to British Walkers are Welcome towns to learn about the Walkers are Welcome initiative,  as the Japanese government is seeking to learn from other countries about possible ways to regenerate activity in the countryside.

The visitors were treated to a walk on part of The Welcome Way, lunch at Dick Hudsons, a visit to Pickles cafe in Baildon centre, a chance to go into Bracken Hall Countryside Centre. The day ended with a visit to Denso Marsten Nature Reserve (the company is Japanese).
