TO MENSTON FOR MEMORIES AND MUNCHING. A BAILDON WALKERS ARE WELCOME "SECOND SATURDAY" GUIDED WALK. TO MENSTON @ Meet at Baildon Potted Meat Stick,

“To Menston, for  Memories, and Munching”. Meet Chris and Mervyn Flecknoe at The Potted Meat Stick in the centre of Baildon (adjacent to the Ian Clough Hall car park / BD17 6LX) for a varied and interesting walk with a historical flavour, and some excellent views, ending with lunch in Menston before returning by train.

We shall follow generally good paths (no stiles but probably some mud) as we pass Tong Park reservoir, and two golf courses, to arrive at Tranmere Park. We then wend our way across fields to enter and pass through “Chevin Park” on the former High Royds site, before continuing into Menston, where we can enjoy a brief historical introduction to the village and some of its historic buildings. Lunch can be purchased in the Menston Arms pub which offers a wide ranging menu including soup,  sandwiches or hot meals (or bring a picnic to eat outdoors if you prefer). We shall then walk down to the railway station to return from Menston to Baildon by train, and walk back to the Potted Meat Stick for around 2.30p.m.

Please come dressed for all weathers and in walking boots or shoes with a good grip. Our Walks Leaders are not necessarily first aid trained, so please bring any medication or minor first aid equipment with you, plus water to drink and any snacks you may wish to nibble en route.  Sorry – we cannot accept dogs (except assistance dogs) on our guided walks.
