TO "BINGLEY AND BACK": A BAILDON WALKERS ARE WELCOME "SECOND SATURDAY" GUIDED WALK. @ Meet at Baildon Potted Meat Stick,

Meet Chris and Mervyn Flecknoe at The Potted Meat Stick in the centre of Baildon (adjacent to the Ian Clough Hall car park / BD17 6LX) for a circular walk to Bingley and back with lunch in the middle at Five Rise Locks Cafe (or bring a picnic).

We shall follow generally good paths , ascending over Baildon Moor to Bracken Hall Green and on to the outskirts of Eldwick. We shall then follow historic byways and paths to reach the Five Rise Locks at Bingley where we can take lunch in the cafe or eat our picnics. We shall return along the canalside and banks of the River Aire to Baildon.

This walks is of approximately 9 miles, with some significant, but not steep, ascents and descents.

There is the option to return from Bingley by public transport, cutting the walk in half, and also to catch a bus from Saltaire back to the Potted Meat Stick.

Please come dressed for all weathers and in walking boots or shoes with a good grip. Please bring water to drink. Our Walks Leaders are not necessarily first aid trained, so please bring any medication or minor first aid equipment with you, plus water to drink and any snacks you may wish to nibble en route.  Sorry – we cannot accept dogs (except assistance dogs) on our guided walks.
