A wet yet enjoyable 3rd Annual Walking Weekend

The weather was against us, but did not dampen the enjoyment of those who joined one of the 12 walks on offer over the weekend. The photo shows some of the parents and toddlers on the ‘Toddler Trot and Treasure Hunt’ walk.

As part of the weekend, a Baildon Walkers are Welcome Open Morning was held at Wesleys, with 15 stalls of interest to walkers and all who love the outdoors. The Open Meeting also included the first AGM of Baildon Walkers are Welcome as an independent voluntary group (up until now the group has been under the umbrella of Baildon Town Council but it has been agreed that the time has come for the group to move forward as an independent group). A committee of 8 local people was elected. Anyone wanting more information or who is interested in getting involved should contact Chris Flecknoe at info@baildonwalkersarewelcome.org

Baildon Walkers are Welcome has also been proud to be able to display the national Walkers are Welcome Wall Hanging in Baildon Library during June. Each square represents one of the Walkers are Welcome towns and villages across the UK, and includes squares representing Baildon, Burley in Wharfedale, and Bingley.
